Eddy Current / Remote Field Inspection
of Heat Exchanger Tubing

Eddy current testing (ET) is a nondestructive test technique based on inducing electrical currents in the material being inspected and observing the interaction between those currents and the material.  The technique is flexible enough for use with other ferrous and non-ferrous conductive materials.

In particular T.I.S. uses it for inspection of Heat Exchanger tubing looking for through wall holes, stress corrosion cracking, and wall thinning due to material wear and baffle plate wear.  Trinidad Inspection has level II certified Eddy Current inspectors whose skills are complemented by the Zetec MIZ-40 Eddy Current and Remote Field Eddy Current Testing equipment with onboard Syquest recorders.

We also utilize Eddy Current data-management software for quick and comprehensive colour reporting on heat exchanger and condenser inspections.
