Ensuring the integrity of offshore pipelines is critical to maintaining a reliable supply of natural gas. When TIS was engaged for this project in the Gulf of Paria, the task at hand was both extensive and time-sensitive. The project required the inspection of 1,350 joints of 8-inch diameter pipework within a 14-day timeline, averaging 100 welds per day. Given the offshore environment and the need for uninterrupted operations, precision and efficiency were paramount.

The inspection process played a crucial role in safeguarding the structural integrity of the pipeline, ensuring seamless natural gas transmission between two offshore platforms spanning 17 kilometers. Preventing potential failures was not only essential for operational continuity but also critical for maintaining safety and environmental compliance. With strict regulatory standards and the complexity of offshore logistics, TIS needed to deploy a cutting-edge inspection solution capable of delivering high accuracy, reliability, and speed under demanding conditions.

Offshore pipeline inspections present unique challenges, requiring adaptability and precise execution in a constantly changing marine environment. The integration of Computerized Radiography Techniques (CRT), while offering superior imaging and real-time data transmission, also required seamless synchronization with offshore workflows.
